Spent most of yesterday running around like a loony, as I do at weekends. We went to my brother in law's to rebuild his computer as it got a particularly nasty virus and basically had to be scrubbed and started again. Not pleasant. I didn't actually do an awful lot to help, but hope I offered a couple of valid suggestions along the way. :D

He cooked us a lovely roast dinner, poured me some very nice wine and we didn't leave until nearly 10pm. So I didn't do any writing, editing or even faffing around online yesterday evening, apart from a brief mail-check.

Glad I did the mail check though. It seems that Poor Mojo's Almanac(k) has offered to accept the Shakespearean themed rant that Mike Munsil and I did some time ago, with one small change. So Yay Us! Actually its a bit weird as Mike handled all this so I got a mail from him saying should we submit, to which I said yes, and a mail back yesterday (and a couple of posts in frequent hangouts) saying did I accept. My reply was pretty darned quick!

So, hopefully we'll see it up online soon and I can post a link! :D

I have one more crit to do for the Story challenge on LH. I still have to vote. My story is doing so-so, one crit tore into it, the others didn't so much.

I still like quizzes, some left over from my teenage box ticking in magazines addiction I suspect. The quiz below was lifted from [profile] kara_gnome   (The lifting of quizes goes on!)

What kind of writer are you?

You're a Plot writer!
Take this quiz!

Yay! It arrived this morning, all silver and SHINY!

Actually I rang the delivery company this morning to see what the ETA was and was told before lunch. Well, "dinner" which fazed me at first, but then remembered that in parts of this country dinner is lunch rather than dinner, which is tea (yes, I know, its complicated!). I asked "this morning?" and he said yes.

They were here 20 minutes later. Interlink are fan-bloody-tastic!!!

So, I have now run out of excuses not to go to work and I don't think watching re-runs of Veronica's Closet on Living TV really counts. I will need to set the laptop up, but if I bring it with me I will do NOTHING in work today... So, I will prize my grubby hands off it and get myself packed up and ready to go. (I also need to find some software which is still in boxes since the house move).

Pat pointed out today that a year ago next week, we went sale agreed on this house. It certainly doesn't seem that long (or look that long when you walk, or squeeze your way, into the smallest bedroom - laughingly dubbed "the box room"!)

Shiny shiny shiny!

On a bit of a learning curve this evening, but in a good way.

Good things -

1. bought a new laptop today (online, so awaiting delivery). The plan is that this is mine and I will be no longer hounded off the computer by either small children or a husband. Therefore I will write more... or surf the web more. One or the other anyway. Possibly both.

2. Found out that my mobile phone company will give me another SIM free of charge and I can keep my mobile number. Yes, though I have lost all numbers I ever stored on the phone, I will still have mine.

3. Learning how to use autostitch on photos from the UK.

4. Learning how to load photos to Picasso.

5. Bought new shoes and a handbag - as we all know one can never have too many shoes or handbags to quote a certain somebody.

Bad things -

Nothing major. Watched the last Dr. Who of the series. That's bad. And Picassa is taking a long time to load up my lovely Hampton Court photos so I cannot show them to you yet.

Still haven't finished my story for the Liberty Hall challenge, but nearing the end. 2 more sections. Hopefully it will all be sorted soon.

And I haven't received the confirmation email for the laptop yet, which is more of a worry, but maybe it has to wait until tomorrow.

So anyway, lots on tomorrow. My son is going to my sister's Art camp for a fortnight. We need to ring about insurance on the mobile etc and see if we can get something for it.

Hmmm. Should Picassa take this long?

There are a lot of thumps and banging coming from upstairs. Better put on my best girl detective hat and investigate...
