I was tagged by [personal profile] slovobooks, so here goes...
RULES:
* 1. Post these rules.
* 2. Each tagged person must post 8 things about themself on their journal.
* 3. At the end, you have to choose and tag 8 people
* 4. Go to their pages and send a message saying you tagged them.
* 5. No tag-backs

1. I like very spicy food. VERY spicy food. No really. EXTREMELY spicy food.
2. My favorite memory of living in Aberdeen for four (college) years, was watching the snow falling on the winter roses.
3. If I could be any animal I would probably be a wolf, or a falcon. Can't decide which.
4. I nearly drowned twice and now hate getting my face wet.
5. I remember, when I was very little, singing about the world around me all the time. My 3yo daughter now does the same thing.
6. I played Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz on stage twice. I've also been a munchkin. I swear, that film is intertwined with my life!
7. I love The 13th Warrior! There, I've said it in public!!!
8. I used to sail a mirror dingy at championship level (until I gave away the bailer). Note: I am not saying I won anything, just that I sailed in the nationals and europeans. Probably near the back. :D We used to win in our category at the DMYC Frostbites - winter sailing in small boats - there's tough for you. I have/had an impressive array of pottery mugs with the word Frsotbite on them.

Now the hard part: tagging other people - [profile] david_de_beer, [profile] gsemones[profile] mallory_blog, [profile] wolf_dude64, [personal profile] marshall_payne, [personal profile] rcloenen_ruiz, [personal profile] wyvernfriend, [profile] xanthalanari

There you go!

Me too, by the way.

My boyfriend made me watch Beowulf with him the other day. It nearly cost him his life, except that my defence mechanism was to fall asleep when I couldn't take any more.

You can get a great drinking game out of it though - you drink every time Ray Winstone says "Monstah!" :-D

Given the amount of times he says it in the first few minutes of his screen time, you probably would be drunk enough for it to be bearable. I do find it impossible to say the word monster without giggling now though, and it's ruined a certain song by The Automatic for me.

The funniest part was when my boyfriend thought they'd ruined it by adding a dragon. :-D

D'oh!

Never mind. You'd just have to gently educate him in the way of Anglo-Saxon epics!

Monstah! *giggle* Now you've got me at it!

13th warrior is kick-ass! who can bring the h8 on that one?

I've been told not to say it out loud many times now.

BUT I LOVE IT!!!

I love "The 13th Warrior"! Rewatch it whenever I can... and it took me years to realize it was "Beowulf." Ah well.

Took me ten minutes. I caused a scene in the cinema and my fiance nearly didn't marry me (it was 2 weeks before the wedding).

As for the new Beowulf... er... no...

That's a lie, there were far more compelling reasons for not marrying her!!!!

And igonre the 10 minutes, it seemed like no more than five, they'd literally got off the boat in Norway(?) and she recognised it.

If you want a good modern Beowulf rent Beowulf and Grendel" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0402057/) it's far better (except the historically accurate ponies used in it!

"That's a lie, there were far more compelling reasons for not marrying her!!!!"
But you weren't allowed to meet them until after the ceremony and by then it was all too late!

Beowulf and Grendel was cool, but the warriors charging into battle on shetland ponies, while historically accurate, put me off! Just a little. I might have giggles. But I loved the film. Not as much as The 13th Warrior. But it was a case of Antonio Banderas vs. Gerard Butler and Antonio wins every time.
