she may be a chick and I'm not, but Dark Phoenix is bar none my favourite villain of all time (funny, I somehow don't count her as a villain villain though; in that sense Apocalypse rules).

True, I don't think of her as a villain either. More as a totally psychotic being consumed by her own power.
