You would think with my husband away I might have got some writing done last night. Not so, unfortunately. I did a little editing on the opening of To Regain Heave and typed up about 200 words for Chapter 15, but otherwise... *ponders how to type the sound of a raspberry being blown...gives up!*

It set me thinking about how much the support mechanism we build around ourselves contributes to our writing, be it a supportive family, a partner who sorts out the laundry while you're wrestling with a scene, or even a cat who is content to lie on the sofa instead of you lap (under the vent from the laptop fan, of course).

So to all those people, thanks.

(Yes, I'm feeling sentimental after only one night on my own!)

Girl, I HATE to be alone too. Hate it worse than almost anything and I SO understand! I admire you for being strong enough to do this by yourself for so long. I'd probably end up in a strait jacket.

Hmmm

Hubby's commute makes regular use of legacy airlines. Work week of Monday thru Thursday.

I dunno, somehow I'm trying to get about 2k of worthy words done a week. There is an art though, in learning how NOT to beat oneself up about it when it just doesn't happen.

This Friday, both he and the kiddos will be home, so I'm thinking of sending them off to visit Grandma...

I do get more done when husband is on the road, but it mainly comes from not cooking meals. I cook for him 3 times a day, which is actually quite time-consuming. Leave me alone, I'll have Instant Breakfast....

Oh yeah. Well I have to cook for the kids, but I'm eating junk!
